Trailhead Fire 85 Percent Contained

Update July 8, 4 a.m.: As of Friday morning, the Trailhead fire was 85 percent contained at 5,646 acres. A smaller El Dorado National Forest crew of firefighters is now handling the blaze.

Officials say crews fighting the Trailhead Fire in Placer and El Dorado counties made good progress Thursday but that the fire became more active. As of Friday afternoon, the blaze has charred 2,551 acres.
