Janice Kelley describes herself as a lifelong writer. She’s written for the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, California State Parks and the Sacramento Bee. In her book, “Mornings on Fair Oaks Bridge,” Kelley asks questions as a way to share the experience of the bridge, as she walked and took pictures.
Kelley describes her walks as magical: being at the bridge early in the morning to see the sunrise and clouds was dazzling to her. What’s different about Kelley — and this book — is she’s not a professional photographer. The book documents her written impressions and reflections, accompanied by those pictures.
Kelley works with schools, nonprofit organizations and public agencies to design and deliver programs that invite individuals, young people and families to make meaningful connections with the natural world.
