On Thursday, Mayor Darrell Steinberg and officials from Sacramento Republic FC announced a proposal to develop a new soccer stadium in the Railyards area. The plan featrues an incentive package from the city worth an estimated $33 million, which includes rebates on property taxes, waived fees and administrative costs.

The plan will be up for a vote during Tuesday’s city council meeting, where it is expected to pass because the benefits package doesn’t include cash payments. If approved, it will be a crucial step in Sacramento’s bid to be awarded an MLS professional soccer franchise.

More from this morning's press conference at The Railyards, plus details on Tuesday's City Council meeting and term sheet vote.
