Hey, Listen! host Nick Brunner opines on his love of some recent E.P.s from Iron and Wine, Century Got BARS and more. Nick also included a couple of extra tracks for our web listeners in addition to the four he shared with us on air.

First is The Flaming Lips' song "Thank You Jack White (For the Fiber-Optic Jesus That You Gave Me)" off of their Flight Test EP, which Nicks says is "a great example of the kind of weird, unexpected fun that I love about E.P.s." This lovely little western tune from weirdo rockers The Flaming Lips about a gift and chance encounter with The White Stripes' Jack White.

The second track is "Can't Stop Me" from Sacramento MC Century Got BARS' The Motown EP. She lives up to the name of this EP as she samples and riffs on Marvin Gaye and Temmi Terrell's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

We want to hear about your favorite EP moments too! Is it a b-side, a live cut or a demo? Record a voice memo on your phone about your favorite EPs and send it to [email protected] for a chance to have your favorite EP track featured on Hey, Listen. Listen Oct. 20 and you might hear your submission on the show. We’ll showcase every entry that comes in online, too.
