Black community leaders are working with the city and county of Sacramento to inspire teens toward college and careers. It's part of a broader effort to build better futures for black youth in the wake of the Stephon Clark shooting.

CapRadio reporter Sammy Caiola has been following those efforts, including past pushes for reform, how parents are talking with their children about violence, and programs hoping to increase employment in low-income communities.
