Latino voters make up the largest ethnic or racial demographic in California, and they play a huge role in our elections. But as a group, they still have some of the lowest turnout numbers of any demographic.

CapRadio's State Government Reporter Ben Bradford looks into this "sleeping giant" of California politics with two experts on his latest Keys to the House podcast. In this excerpt, you’ll hear the story behind that data and what might change in the 2018 election from Mike Madrid, principal at Grassroots Lab in Sacramento, and Mindy Romero, director of the California Civic Engagement Project at UC Davis.
