The environmental organization
Sierra Streams Institute is conducting the first ever study to figure out if mining contaminants are causing women living in Gold Country to develop breast cancer. The study began in the summer of 2014 and is beginning to produce results. Joining Insight to talk about the study’s findings are Joanne Hild, executive director of Sierra Streams Institute, and Peggy Reynolds, an epidemiologist with the
Cancer Prevention Institute of California.
Sierra Streams will be presenting its full findings at a public meeting in Grass Valley Tuesday night.
