Who should pay for the disposal of over-the-counter and prescription drugs? Drug companies have argued in court that it’s unconstitutional to make them bear the costs. But the U.S. Supreme Court has now decided to step out of the way and allow lower court rulings to stand -- drug companies will have to fund the disposal programs that are popping up across the country. The case had originated out of Alameda County. Insight speaks with Heidi Sanborn, Executive Director of the California Product Stewardship Council and Dr. Matt Willis, the Public Health Officer for Marin County, which is drafting a similar ordinance to Alameda County.
