Stockton school shooting It's been 25 years since the 1989 school shooting at Cleveland Elementary in Stockton. On Jan. 17, 1989, Patrick Purdy, 24, walked onto the the school playground and started shooting. Five children were killed and thirty more were wounded. Since then, gun laws have changed and so did our psche. Stu VanAirsdale, senior editor of Sactown Magazine, speaks about his article about the incident titled "Trigger Effect," a compelling and comprehensive look at Stockton's Cleveland school shooting.

Frommers travel guides One of America's best known travel experts will be speaking Thursday at Time Tested Books in Sacramento in support of the re-launch of the iconic travel guides, “Frommer’s Easy Guides” and “Day by Day Guides.” Pauline Frommer recently reacquired the publishing rights for 30 new Frommer’s books in 2014. We’ll talk with her about the popular travel guides and hear her tips for traveling on a budget in 2014.
