Vanessa S. Nelson / Capital Public Radio

This string quartet from the Sacramento Youth Symphony is compromised members who are all from the Luong family. They include Brandon and Connor, ages 16 and 14, on violins, Olivia, 12, on cello and Isabella, 9, on viola.

Introduced to classical music by their father Kenny, the Luong children practice and play together as well as on their own. Each are at different stages in their musical careers, but they all expressed an appreciation for the role classical music plays in their lives.   In this segment the Quartet plays excerpts from works by Haydn and Gardel, and they treat us to a complete performance of Mozart’s “Eine kleine Nachtmusik.”
