Photos: What In-Person Classes Look Like In The Sacramento Region

  •  Andrew Nixon
Thursday, April 8, 2021 | Sacramento, CA

Some of the Sacramento City Unified School District's youngest students returned to in-person classes Thursday, joining the many kids in the region who have returned to schools over the past weeks and months.

The return includes new safety procedures, such as temperature checks on the way into classrooms and mandatory mask-wearing. At the San Juan Unified School District, which has had some students back since March 22, there are ropes for younger children to practice social distancing and plexiglass barriers in classrooms.

CapRadio Visual Journalist Andrew Nixon visited three Sacramento-area schools Thursday to get a sense of what the new experience will be like for students and teachers. Here’s a look at what he saw at John Cabrillo Elementary, Greer Elementary and Encina High School.
