California Gov. Gavin Newsom made good on his Super Bowl bet with Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker Wednesday, donning a Tom Brady jersey while serving lunch at the Sacramento homeless shelter and services center Loaves and Fishes.

The two governors agreed to do a community service project wearing the winning team's colors. The Los Angeles Rams lost 13-3 to the New England Patriots on Sunday.

“Those [Julian] Edelman shirts were sold out, but Brady is a Bay Area kid, but as a Joe Montana kid, this is heartbreaking, it really is,” Newsom said.

Patriots wide receiver Edelman is also from the Bay Area.

The last time a California governor lost a Super Bowl bet was 2013 when the 49ers fell to the Baltimore Ravens.

Then-Governor Jerry Brown sent Maryland's governor a used history book about the Golden State called "California: The Great Exception."
