The Stockton Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a teenage boy for murder. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Detectives are seeking 14-year old Eric Lamar Sloan in a killing that happened January 12 at the Food 4 Less parking lot on March Lane in Stockton.
Three days after the shooting, 20-year-old Kayla Woodard was arrested in the homicide of 20-year-old Christopher Combs.
But Police Officer Joe Silva says Sloan is believed to be the shooter.
Although it’s unusual to name a juvenile in a criminal case, “We have to look at public safety and since he has been identified as the shooter, and he is considered armed and dangerous," Silva says, "that’s why we had to get his photograph and his name out there immediately.”
Combs was the second homicide in Stockton this year. In the first homicide case, a juvenile was arrested as well.
