Monday Nov. 13 is the last day for people affected by last month's wildfires in Northern California to sign up for help to clean up their properties.
The State and Federal Consolidated Debris Removal Program is free for anyone who had homes, large sheds, boats and cars destroyed last month. But to take advantage of the program, residents must fill out the forms and turn them in Monday.
"You don't have to broker through an insurance company, you don't have to figure out who's certified, who's not certified, who's qualified or who has the insurance to come into a hazardous material zone like that and you don't have to do it yourself with heavy equipment," said Brad Alexander with the Governor's Office of Emergency Services.
Crews from Cal Recycle and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are tasked with removal of ash and debris.
The program applies to Butte, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Sonoma and Yuba counties.
