UPDATE 10:30 A.M.: Two men are dead following a vehicle collision on Northbound Interstate 5 north of Laguna Blvd in Elk Grove.

The impact caused major intrusion into the cab of the Isuzu truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both the driver and passenger in the Isuzu were pronounced dead on the scene.

The number 3 lane was closed for investigation and cleanup and reopened at 8:15 a.m.
