For a fee, you can access any of the open city pools in Sacramento. Discounts are available and there is free admission at some play pools.

Watch A Movie At A Theater
Movie theaters are open year-round and make for the perfect spot for avoiding the heat. Don't forget to grab a cold drink or Icee.

Take A Swim In A River
Everyone has their favorite swimming holes in the area and there are plenty of spots for all. The American River is a popular local favorite to cool during the summer. Or, you can check out one of these other favorites.

Visit A Water Park
Sacramento has a popular water parks that have been around for a while, including Raging Waters near Arden Fair Mall and Sunsplash in Roseville. Another option is Wake Island also located in Roseville.

Spray Grounds
Some parks have spray grounds where kids, and adults, can run through water gushing from the ground to cool down. City of Sacramento's spray parks are open through Labor Day weekend. You can find various locations here.
