Snow skiing in the Tahoe area will continue this year beyond the July Fourth holiday, due to record snowfall.
Squaw Valley made it official today that the resort plans to continue offering winter activities into mid-July for the first time in its history.
The resort had indicated earlier this spring that an extended season was definitely a possibility.
Management at Squaw now says with a snow base depth of 20 feet in early May, it will offer winter enthusiasts the chance to boot-up long into the summer.
The runs will be limited after July 4 and only on Saturdays.
However, Alpine Meadows, Squaw's sister resort, plans to close on Sunday, May 14.
