If you have a job in the Sacramento region, new federal data out today suggest you probably earn more than people doing similar work in other parts of the country.
"Sacramento workers earn about 10 percent more than the national average," says Todd Johnson with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics office in San Francisco, which released the numbers.
He says the average Sacramento area worker earns about $25.64 an hour. The national average is $23.23.
Johnson says office and administrative support jobs accounted for the largest share of local employment at more than 17 percent.
"When you have a high concentration of state and local governments there is a larger percentage of office and administrative support occupations," says Johnson.
Management jobs in the area were the highest paid at $52.82 an hour, followed by legal occupations at $52.35.
