Amazon says its tenth California order-processing center will open in Sacramento by the end of 2017 and will create over 1,000 full-time jobs.
Employees will pick, pack, and ship smaller customer items, such as books, electronics and toys.
Amazon says the Sacramento center is in the preliminary stages of construction and will measure 855,000 square-feet. The building will be located near Interstate 5 and Powerline Road.
The company says more than 14,000 Californians work in Amazon fulfillment centers across the state.
