A popular food truck event in the San Francisco Bay Area is expanding to the Sacramento region this weekend.

Off the Grid has been putting on large-scale food events since 2010. Matt Cohen is the founder.

"We currently run almost 60 reoccurring markets all over the Bay Area," says Cohen. "But this will be our first time expanding into Sacramento."

Sunday's event will feature 22 local food vendors with cuisine ranging from high-end burgers and tacos to Indian food.

Cohen says one reason he decided to branch out into the Sacramento area is because of the region's well-known farm-to-fork reputation.

"Sacramento is doing it's own thing that is representative of the produce and the lifestyle that's happening in the area," says Cohen. "And I think what we're trying to do is just put that as much forward as we can and have it be an experience that feels authentically from Sacramento."

Sunday's event will be at River Walk Park in West Sacramento starting from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be held every Sunday through the end of October.

Meanwhile, another company - Sacramento Mobile Food Events or SactoMofo - continues to hold an average of 120 events throughout the five-county Sacramento region every month. Including tomorrow at the Lincoln AirFest and Sunday at Manteca Food Truck Mania.
