Bike To Work Or Bike Other Places - Still Lots Of Bike Months Events Left

Friday is National Bike To Work day and energizer stations will be set up to help encourage workers to get on two wheels.

“National Bike to Work Day is the perfect time to try bicycling for your commute,” Sabrina Bradbury, May is Bike Month Program Manager said in a statement. “The important message is for people to think about biking for any of the trips they typically make by car, not just to work, and not just on this one day.”

Even if you didn't channel kinetic energy to get yourself to the office on Friday, there are still ways to celebrate the final days of bike month. Check out the May Is Bike month calendar for a full listing of activities and here's a roundup of some of the best remaining bike month events:

Hostelling International Sacramento: Bike-In Movie - Amélie 

Friday, May 20, 8-11 p.m. | Free 

Bike into Sacramento's hostel at 9th and H streets for an evening with everyone's favorite Parisian pixie dream girl. The film is in French with subtitles; so being literate or fluent in French will increase the enjoyment of this cinematic experience. 


Sutter Health Community Ride

Sunday, May 22, 10 a.m. | Free

This ride begins at Mike's Bikes in Folsom and tours the American River Bike Trail before ending at the Amgen finish in downtown Sacramento.


Bici and Bevi: Yolo Olive Oil and Wine 

Saturday, May 28, 8 a.m. | $150

Join HOT ITALIAN in Davis and Bondolio Farms on Memorial Day Weekend for a benefit ride exploring olive oil, wine, and pizza in Yolo County.


Johnny Cash Folsom Prison Blues Bike Ride

Sunday, May 29, 8:30 a.m. | Free

Don your best black cycling jerseys and celebrate Johnny Cash on this eight-mile ride along the trail that shares his name.
