The City of Sacramento says the 2014-15 fiscal year ended with $21.87 million dollars more than expected.

"Most are the result of taxes higher than anticipated in the budget as well as one-time revenues that we don't expect to receive again."
The city council will likely set aside nearly $4.853 million for the city's Economic Uncertainty Reserve, $5.05 million to cover future fire department costs, and $6.716 million for retirement benefits.
That will leave about $4.796 million for the council to spend.
The council has already identified lawsuit settlements, toxic land remediation, the B Street Theater, and the St John's Shelter program as likely recipients of some of those funds.
