Staying Healthy in a Sick Economy

These days, we are all treated to a daily dose of news on the economic meltdown and the unprecedented level of stress it is causing in our lives. Often, the next story tells us just how bad that stress is for our health, followed closely by more news about our broken health care system. We think it’s time to take a breather, and explore some ways that you can “stay healthy in a sick economy” without stressing your family’s budget.

In our Spring 2009 Second Opinions Community Health Forum, we took a fresh approach as we explored topics like integrating alternative and traditional approaches to prevention; controlling stress through exercising body and mind; eating seasonally and locally to improve the planet’s health and yours; and creating an exercise game plan that will work for regular people.
