Water Package/ "Motown Jukin'"/ Sound Advice: Opera

Water Package A complex and controversial package of water legislation is working its way through the California Capitol. The challenge - how to protect the Delta while ensuring there's enough water for the rest of the state. The result, whatever it is, is sure to cost many billions of dollars. What's on the table and who will foot the bill? Today on Insight, we'll get an update on the process from Capital Public Radio's Marianne Russ and we'll talk with local legislators about it.

'Motown Jukin'' The Motown sound has turned 50. In 1959, producer Berry Gordy founded two record labels in Detroit: Tamla and Motown. The next year, he joined them. Over the years, Motown's artists included many of the greatest in pop and soul history, including Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye. A new dance show celebrates that music. It's called "Motown Jukin'" and it's playing at Sacramento State. You'll meet some of the members of Sacramento Black Art of Dance and hear about the production.

Sound Advice: Opera It's Thursday and time for more Sound Advice when we listen to new, released and otherwise notable music. This week, we're joined by Sean Bianco, host of Capital Public Radio's "Friday Night at the Opera."
