A.S. Byatt/ H1N1 Update/ Sound Advice: Off Air

A.S. Byatt The English novelist, short story writer and essayist A.S. Byatt is coming to town. Byatt is probably best known for the books "Still Life," "Possession" and "Angels and Insects." Her latest novel, "The Children's Book," is set in England in the late 19th and 20th centuries, which was a time of great change and a particularly terrible war. A.S. Byatt speaks tonight at The Crest Theatre. Today on Insight, you'll meet her and hear about her work.

A.S. Byatt speaks at California Lectures at 7:30 p.m. today at The Crest Theatre, 1013 K St., Sacramento. Lobby opens at 6:15 p.m. and previews start at 6:30 p.m. Information: (916) 442-5189.

H1N1 Update One unusual feature of the H1N1 virus - also popularly known as the "swine flu" - is that it seems to hit younger people harder than older people. And that's the opposite of what you normally find with the flu. UC Davis researchers recently studied the H1N1 virus to find out what's going on. Their finding will be published next month. We'll talk with one of the researchers and then hear an update on the H1N1 vaccine and its availability in the area from Capital Public Radio's Healthcare Reporter Kelley Weiss.
