Sac County Budget/Jeff Bell/Cemetery Symbolism/Sound Advice

Sac County Budget The seemingly never-ending process of cutting Sacramento County's budget. We've heard it before that the supervisors were about to make their final cost-cutting decisions, but apparently this week really is the end. Joining us to talk about the tough options on the table is Capital Public Radio News reporter Ben Adler.

Jeff Bell Radio news anchor Jeff Bell has a new book about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. His first book - published two years ago - was a memoir about his own experience with OCD. "When in Doubt, Make Belief" is about life lessons he's learned from OCD, and how they could help people in general, with or without OCD.

Jeff Bell is speaking at 7 p.m. today at Borders, 2339 Fair Oaks Blvd., Sacramento. Information: (916) 564-0168.

Cemetery Symbolism Have you ever wondered what all those symbols in cemeteries mean? Some refer to secret societies. An expert on the subject is coming to town today. Douglas Keister tells you about his book "Stories in Stone: A Field Guide to Cemetery Symbolism and Iconography."

"Stories in Stone: Secrets of Symbolism in the Sacramento City Cemetery," a presentation by Douglas Keister, is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the California Auto Museum, 2200 Front St., Sacramento. Information: (916) 448-0811.

Sound Advice: Classical Every Thursday, a different Capital Public Radio music host joins us with new or obscure music they think you should hear. Host Michael Frost takes us on a classical journey.
