Frank Fat's/Inn of Court/Vieux Farka Toure/King Records


Frank Fat's A Sacramento dining institution is celebrating 70 years of business in downtown. Today on Insight, Jerry Fat and Willie Brown reminisce about Frank Fat's. Jerry Fat is the president of restaurant operations for the Fat family restaurant business and Brown is the former California State Assembly Speaker who spent many years holding court at the famed restaurant.

Frank Fat's 70th Anniversary Celebration is from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9th at Frank Fat's, 806 L St., Sacramento.

Inn of Court You'll learn about the Anthony Kennedy Inn of Court, the Sacramento chapter of an organization that brings together judges, lawyers and law students to discuss issues they face practicing law. Members are divided into teams that represent a cross-section of Sacramento's legal community, and each team writes a skit addressing an assigned issue.

Vieux Farka Toure African singer-guitarist Vieux Farka Toure, son of the late, famous African musician Ali Farka Toure, is performing in Grass Valley. We'll talk with manager Deborah Cohen and hear some of his music.

King Records Sacramento resident Jon Hartley Fox has written a book about the influential record label King Records, one of America's pioneering rock records labels. He also produced a series of documentaries about the label for NPR in the 1980s.
