Fire Rebuilding/ Self-Checkout Change/ Suicide/ Super Virus


Fire Rebuilding How do you deal with losing a home in a wildfire? Today on Insight, we'll talk with two people whose homes burned down in Auburn's 49 fire. 

Self-Checkout Change A bill that aims to limit the use of self-checkout lines for alcohol purchases is before the California Senate. We'll talk with the author of AB 1060, Assemblyman Hector De La Torre, about it. We'll also hear from Rob Atkinson, president of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, which is opposed to it.

Suicide Prevention It's National Suicide Prevention Week. We'll talk with the head of local crisis line about it. Liseanne Wick, coordinator of The Effort's Suicide Prevention Crisis Line, tells you about suicide warning signs and what people can do to get help for themselves or their loved ones.

"Super Virus" A Lincoln man has released his debut novel. Lawrence Lapin, a retired San Jose State University professor, tells you about "Super Virus: Immortal Sins." The scientific thriller about the misuse of genetic engineering is the first novel in a planned four-book series.
