Squeaky Fromme Photo Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, a follower of Charles Manson who pulled a gun on President Ford in Sacramento, will be released from prison in a few days. The famous news photograph of Fromme being detained in Capitol Park seconds after she pulled out a gun was taken by retired photojournalist Dick Schmidt. At the time, he worked for the "Sacramento Bee." We talked with Schmidt about the photo on Insight on Feb. 2nd, 2007.
"The Green Room" A new musical gets its world premiere tonight in Sacramento. It's called "The Green Room" and it's about four friends determined to make it onto the Broadway stage. We'll talk with director of the Sacramento production and to the people who wrote it.
"The Green Room" opens Friday, Aug. 7th and runs through Aug. 29th at The California Stage, 2509 R St., Sacramento. Performances at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. There are also 8 p.m. performances on Thursday, Aug. 20th and 27th, and a midnight performance on Saturday, Aug. 22nd. Information: (916) 534-7496.
