Companionship/ Barn Exhibit/ Trash Film Orgy/ Ukulele Loki


Companionship Training How do you respond to someone who is suffering from homelessness or mental illness? A pastor and mental health expert speaks about the importance of companionship in working with the mentally ill, ways in which to support homeless and mentally ill people, and how to explore our own natural capacity for sensitivity, compassion, and concern.

Barn Exhibit The Knowlton Gallery teamed up with the San Joaquin County Historical Society to record barns in Central California. Through paint and oral interviews, the history and symbolic beauty of these barns is preserved. The gallery owner and several artists speak about this work.

Trash Film Orgy Sacramento's annual Trash Film Orgy opens this weekend and continues throughout the summer. The three partners of Trash Film Orgy Productions joins us to speak about the Film Festival.

Ukulele Loki Ukulele Loki and the Gadabout Orchestra, a post-punk, chamber-pop ukulele band, plays in Sacramento. The band joins us in studio to speak about their role in promoting and reviving the ukulele, and plays a few songs.

Documentary "Rock That Uke" is accompanied by Ukulele Loki and the Gadabout Orchestra on Friday, July 10, at The Guild Theater, 2828 35th St (corner of 35th & Broadway), Sacramento. First film screening is at 7pm, Ukulele Loki plays at 8pm, and a second film screening begins at 9:30pm.
