Ruthanne Lum McCunn  The best-selling author of "A Thousand Pieces of Gold" and "Wooden Fish Songs" is speaking in Sacramento this week. Today on Insight, Ruthanne Lum McCunn tells you about her new historical novel "God of Luck." It explores the Pacific Slave Trade.

"The Omnivore's Dilemma"  Author and UC Berkeley professor Michael Pollan tells you about "The Omnivore’s Dilemma." The book was recently released in paperback.

Shadow of the Moon  Next month marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of Sputnik, the first satellite to orbit the earth. It began a space race between America and the Soviet Union. A new documentary on the feats of America's Apollo program, "In the Shadow of the Moon," opens in Sacramento this week. You'll meet a local man who worked on rockets that propelled astronauts to the moon in the 1960s.
