She wrote "Reading of the Names: For the Firefighters," a tribute piece to those first responders who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. Locke also serves as executive director of the Jessica Locke Firefighters Fund, a charitable organization that raises funds to offer alternative health care to firefighters still plagued by illness and post-traumatic stress as a result of the exposure to toxic and hazardous conditions at Ground Zero. She'll be in Sacramento this weekend for the Camellia Symphony Orchestra's "American Heroes and Superheroes" concerts.
