"Urinetown" / Kushman does Napa / Reno River Festival


"Urinetown" in town  The hit musical comedy "Urinetown" is being performed by two local theater groups. Today on Insight, find out why this oddly named play is so popular, meet the directors of both the River State production and the UC Davis one, and hear some of the performers sing a song or two.

River Stage's production of "Urinetown" plays at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:00 p.m. Sundays starting April 21 and running through May 20, with discounted preview shows April 18-20, all at the Visual and Performing Arts Center, Consumnes River College, 8401 Center Parkway, Sacramento. Kushman does Napa   How does a TV critic write a book about wine? With a lot of humor, humility, and some help from local somalier and best friend Henry Beal.  Hear Kushman and Beal talk about "A Moveable Thirst: Tales and Tastes from a Season in Napa Wine Country," his experiences visiting all 141 public tasting rooms in Napa, and what he learned along the way.
