Mandatory HPV vaccination  Less than a year ago the U.S. government recommended that preteen girls be vaccinated against human papillomavirus to prevent cervical cancer. Since then, dozens of states have created vaccination bills that are generating a lot of controversy. Today on Insight, we'll look at California's Assembly Bill 16. Hear what the sponser of this legislation has to say, as well as several critics and supporters.

Sparing the rod  Another piece of legislation that's generating controversy is California's so-called "spanking bill," Assembly Bill 755. While the the most recent version of this legislation does not prohibit parents from spanking their children, it still forbids certain kinds of physical discipline, such as hitting children with a belt. Hear what the author of the bill has to say, as well as several critics and supporters.
