Ig Noble research  Why don't woodpeckers get headaches? UC Davis professor Ivan Schwab recently won an Ig Noble Award for research he did on the subject. He'll tell you about his research and what it's like to be an Ig Noble Award winner.

Tour of California  The Amgen Tour of California kicks off this weekend in San Francisco with a stop in Sacramento scheduled Tuesday, Feb. 20. Local cycling reporter James Raia tells you what to expect during the race.

The Amgen Tour of California begins at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18 in Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco. Stage 2 from Santa Rosa arrives in Sacramento between 2:15 and 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20. The stage that day concludes with three circuits through downtown Sacramento before finishing on the front step of California's Capitol Building.
