Golden Game


There’s no major league baseball team in Sacramento, but it’s still a baseball town. Today on Insight, the long history of baseball in California’s capital from the Sacramento Solons to the River Cats. It’s the subject of a new documentary on KVIE. You’ll hear an archive recording from a Sacramento Solons pitcher Tony Freitas. Plus, fans and experts tell you about former players and why so many Sacramentans love the game.

“The Golden Game: Baseball in Sacramento”, a special edition of KVIE's "ViewFinder," airs 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11.  The program is KVIE's first original high-definition production.
