The State of Highway 99

The State of Highway 99  Cutting through the San Joaquin Valley, Highway 99 exists in the shadow of Interstate 5. Nevertheless, it's a vital artery for travelers, commuters, and industry, including agriculture. But does 99 meet their needs? Host Jeffrey Callison speaks with experts about the state of Highway 99, and if it should - or ever could - be upgraded to an Insterstate.

Also, Jeffrey speaks with Fresno born poet Gary Soto about his Valley upbringing.

Tapan Trivedi  Indian comic Tapan Trivedi joins Jeffrey to talk about his many, many weddings . . . all for one marriage; and about his lifelong fear of nudity, which culminated in his becoming a nudist.  Tapan performs tonight at Sacramento's Luna Cafe, (916) 441-3931.

This program is the final installment in our week-long collaboration with KXJZ News looking at life in the San Joaquin Valley.
