    More than 1,000 volunteers in Stockton will give out food to the homeless, clean up graffiti or run errands for seniors Saturday. It's part of a nationwide trend. Non-profit organizations are seeing an increase in the number of volunteers.

    The city of Elk Grove wants you to buy a new car at its Auto Mall. Starting Saturday, it’s offering $500 in gift cards to the first 500 people who do. Officials say it’s their own economic stimulus program.

  • New Stimulus Grant for Sac PD, But No New Jobs
    The Sacramento Police Department is getting its second boost this week from the federal economic stimulus program. The Justice Department says it’s sending the city $2.5 million in grants to upgrade police equipment.
