Sac State President Alexander Gonzalez
Sacramento State says it’s opened up the books of a non-profit campus support organization for an audit from California’s attorney general.
The organization is University Enterprises, Incorporated, or UEI.
The audit includes seven years of documents – and documents that cover the salary and other compensation for University President Alexander Gonzalez.
The Sacramento Bee has reported that the union representing CSU professors says UEI and similar foundations at other campuses have mismanaged millions of dollars. As an example, the union cited a loan of more than 200-thousand dollars to Gonzalez.
Gonzalez says the university is cooperating with the attorney general’s office.
