But forecaster Johnny Powell says just because it’s been wet the last few days doesn’t mean the drought is about to disappear.
Powell: “Yes, it’s good to see the rain come on time. But it’s a long ballgame. We’re starting off good. So we don’t want to get too happy, because January’s our money month, and we’ve had some good Decembers and then they turn out dry in January. January is when we need all the rain we can get.”
Powell says Tuesday's storm will last into Wednesday, with the possibility of a few showers lingering later in the week.
He says the valley will get up to an inch of rain, while the mountains could see two more feet of snow.
