About 18,000 customers in El Dorado County were still without power Tuesday afternoon. Placerville has the largest concentration of outages.

PG& E spokesman Brian Swanson says they hope to have that number down to about 8,000 by midnight.  He says remaining customers won’t have power until Wednesday at the earliest.  Meanwhile, electricity has been mostly restored to Placer County customers. Swanson says extra crews have been brought into the region to help.
With power outages continuing, El Dorado County officials set up a warming center at 549 Main Street in Placerville for people who have no heat in their homes. Eight people stayed at the center last night, and another seven arrived today.  The County Office of Emergency Services is offering a free shuttle to residents without power. It will take them to locations in the area where there is power, such as homes of family members and friends or hotels.
