From demolition and clean-up to building permits and home inspections, you can’t rebuild your home after it burns down without help from your local government. That’s the task facing the more than 60 property owners who lost their homes in last week’s Auburn Fire. 

After the 2007 Angora Fire near South Lake Tahoe, several residents say El Dorado County Supervisor Norma Santiago helped them navigate through the bureaucracy. So today, we wrap up our “Angora Advice” series by checking in with Santiago.
