About a dozen Sacramento Police officers converged at a homeless camp on C Street in Downtown Sacramento. They told campers to leave. Officer Laura Peck says the campers are violating the city’s camping ordinance.
“We’re hoping that they will gather their belongings and leave. If they do not comply with that ordinance than we will unfortunately have to make some arrests.”
But homeless advocates say the 30 homeless people staying on the vacant lot have the permission of the property owner to stay there.
