Felix Garcia is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He says we’ll have below-normal-temperatures all week long.
“We have a low pressure system off the coast of Northern California. It’s bringing a lot of cool air from the Pacific Ocean. And this low pressure is slowly, very slowly moving inland. So people should enjoy and go out. It’s going to be really nice weather.”
Garcia says some mountain areas may also see rain showers later this week.
Meantime, authorities say an intense storm that swept through Reno Sunday night dropped about a half-inch of rain and pelted Stead and Cold Springs with hail. Lightning from an earlier storm ignited a brush fire that threatened six-homes but was contained on the west side of Washoe Valley.
