Former State Treasurer Tapped To Lead Federal Investigation Into Cause Of Recession

A Californian is leading a congressional panel investigation into why the nation has slipped into a recession.    
Phil Angelides is a former State Treasurer. 

He was also the democratic party’s nominee for governor in 2006.

Recently, he was selected by U-S House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to serve as chairman of the “Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission.”

Capital Public Radio's Steve Shadley recently visited Angelides at his Sacramento office to learn more about the ten-member commission.

He also ran unsuccessfully as the democratic challenger to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006.  

Angelides has just been selected to chair a congressional panel that will look into caused the recession.
