Starting Monday, July 20th, the city’s Solid Waste Division is switching to a four-day work-week schedule. As a result, they’ve had to adjust their collection service.
Maurice Chaney is with the city.
“The change would be primarily for folks who have garbage pickup on Fridays. They’ll be moved within the Monday through Thursday schedule. And ultimately these changes are just to help with operational efficiencies and to save money.”
Street sweeping will also be cutback…from monthly to every two-months. The city is also suspending its bulk-pickup neighborhood cleanup program until further notice. And if someone illegally dumps trash on your street, it’ll take city crews longer to respond.
