The Yolo County Transportation District is looking at eliminating transfer slips. Terry Bassett – who heads the district – says they have no choice.
“We’re doing this in response to the fact that RT has voted to eliminate the transfer slip and so we’re eliminating it on our end for transfers between the two systems. However, we will continue issuing transfer slips for transfers within the Yolobus system only.”
Right now, it costs two-dollars to ride Yolobus and an extra 75-cents for a transfer slip. But with the elimination of transfers, Yolobus riders will have to fork up an additional $2.50 to take R-T…and that’s just for one trip.
Bassett says most riders will probably buy daily passes for $6 which will allow them to use both systems. If approved, the changes would become effective September 1st.
A public hearing on the proposed changes will be held Monday at 7 PM in the Woodland City Council Chambers.
