The city is distributing table tent cards to restaurants…encouraging customers to save water.
Sharene Gonzales is Stockton’s water conservation coordinator. She says it’s something new they’re trying.
But reaction from restaurants has been mixed.
“Some have been receptive and some have been a little hesitant. We’re hoping that with the attention on water conservation that those who may be a little hesitant will join us in our efforts to save water.”
Gonazles says about a hundred restaurants are participating in the program so far.
She says the money spent to print up the cards comes from utility funds…and doesn’t impact the city’s General Fund at all.
