The California Primary Care Association brought the suit. It said the state could not cut Medi-Cal coverage for dental, podiatry, optometry and psychological services at community health centers. But a Sacramento Superior Court judge sided with the state.

The California Primary Care Association says now many centers won’t be able to pay for the thousands of patients without coverage. And that could mean staff layoffs and fewer services at clinics.
