Leilani Vierra is CEO of Placer SPCA. She says they have more than 360 cats and kittens.
“We are overloaded right now. This is the first time we’ve seen this number of kittens arrive. We’re concerned that the economy may be effecting people’s good decision making in terms of getting their animals spayed or neutered.”
Vierra says contributions are also down at the shelter.
Starting Tuesday, June 23, all adult cats one-year-or-older can be adopted for free at the Placer SPCA in Roseville.
All cats up for adoption have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.
